Job Title: Electrical Engineer


Job Description

We are seeking a electrical engineer to work on industrial projects, ranging from small facility modifications to complex EPC contracts across various industries such as pulp and paper, chemicals, food and beverage, consumer products, and pharmaceuticals. The role involves designing power distribution, lighting, and grounding systems, with occasional travel to project and construction sites.


Responsibilities

  • Design power system facilities and equipment, coordinating construction, operation, and maintenance of electric power generating, receiving, and distribution stations, systems, and equipment.
  • Develop conceptual layouts and sketches for efficient project designs.
  • Participate in planning, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating detailed phases of electrical engineering projects.
  • Develop equipment specifications and construction specifications, including contractor scope of work documents.
  • Direct preparation or prepare drawings and specify equipment and materials for construction and installation.
  • Inspect completed installations for conformance with design specifications and safety standards.
  • Produce work products such as one-line diagrams, wiring drawings, panel layout drawings, motor schematics, instrument loop sheets, conduit and tray routing drawings, and contractor scope documents.
  • Work with systems and equipment grounding requirements, including high resistance, building, and isolated grounding.
  • Provide on-site start-up support.

Essential Skills

  • Electrical engineering and design expertise, including power systems.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards such as NEC, ANSI, NEMA, NFPA.
  • 5+ years of experience with design and installation of medium and low-voltage distribution equipment.
  • Experience in consulting engineering and construction industry.

  • Capability with CAD systems including AutoCAD.
  • PE license or EIT certificate with ability to obtain PE license is preferred but not required.

Work Environment

The role involves working on industrial projects that require innovative thinking and precise execution. Engineers will use advanced design tools and software, including Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD, while meeting deadlines and operating within budgets. Occasionally, travel to project and construction sites is necessary, providing on-site support and ensuring installations meet design specifications and safety standards.
