Description
TEKsystems is currently seeking a Mainframe Developer to help maintain the mainframe that includes about 40% of the companies applications. They will potentially extend longer than 9 months depending on where they are at with modernization efforts. Need to have at least 5 years of experience with COBOL/DB2 and JCL languages, and ideal candidate is local to KC.
o Address cycle-tuning and cycle-performance issues and opportunities
o Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services—from inception, through deployment, operation and refinement
o Support services through activities such as system design consulting, integrating software and frameworks, automation creation, testing, capacity planning and implementation reviews
o Maintain stability by measuring and monitoring availability, latency and overall system health
o Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation, and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity
o Utilize technical skills to maintain optimal system efficiency, productivity and reliability
o Confidently strategize and act to provide creative solutions, communicating clearly and concisely while utilizing the AGILE philosophy.
o Perform other duties as assigned
