Job Title: Engineering Test Technician
Job Description
The Engineering Test Technician will develop comprehensive training programs to support the operation and maintenance of Department of Defense (DOD) customer equipment. This role requires the creation of formal instructional lesson plans, student guides, and handouts for training courses. The technician will utilize state-of-the-art training processes, including Computer Based Training (CBT) and Training Development Capability (TDC). Travel to customer sites is necessary to conduct formal technical operation and maintenance training, providing product support, troubleshooting, and repair on short notice.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement training programs for DOD equipment operation and maintenance.
- Create instructional lesson plans, student guides, and handouts for training courses.
- Utilize Computer Based Training (CBT) and Training Development Capability (TDC) processes.
- Travel to customer sites to conduct technical training and provide product support.
- Assist Field Service Representatives (FSRs) in training and implementation.
- Provide on-site troubleshooting and repair for customer equipment.
Essential Skills
- Experience in design, electrical engineering, and technician roles.
- Proficiency in assembly, soldering, and working with circuit boards.
- Ability to develop instructional courses and training materials.
- Military experience or familiarity with defense contractor environments.
- Experience in electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting.
- Ability to design and interpret blueprints and schematics.
- 2-5 years of relevant working experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience developing instructional materials for military or defense contractors.
- Familiarity with TRADOC Regulation (TR) 350-70.
- Experience with platform development in the Army.
- Prior experience in maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment for military purposes.
Work Environment
The role is based in a modern facility located west of St. Louis International Airport. It is a hybrid role, with work from home on Mondays and Fridays, and in-office presence on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. The schedule includes every other Friday off, providing a balanced work-life arrangement. The position involves approximately 50% travel to customer sites, including locations such as West Plains, MO, and Saudi Arabia, to support training and operations.
