Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support one physician by managing 18-22 patients daily. The role involves comprehensive patient workups, including gathering previous medical history, taking manual vitals, performing blood draws, and conducting medication reconciliations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with blood draws using both straight needles and butterfly needles, particularly with elderly patients.
Responsibilities
- Conduct full patient workups, including obtaining previous medical history and manual vitals.
- Perform blood draws using straight needle and butterfly techniques.
- Reconcile patient medications accurately.
- Manage and accommodate 18-22 patient appointments per day, each lasting 30 minutes.
- Provide compassionate care to a primarily elderly and underserved patient demographic.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in phlebotomy and blood draw techniques.
- High school diploma or equivalent education (GED).
- Graduation from an accredited program in Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician, EMT, or Paramedic.
- Minimum of 1 year experience as a Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician, EMT, or Paramedic.
- BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working with geriatric patients.
- Familiarity with EMR systems.
Work Environment
The position offers a schedule of either 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM or 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The work involves managing a steady flow of 18-22 patients daily, with appointments scheduled at 30-minute intervals. The role requires adaptability to work with an elderly population in a supportive healthcare setting.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Louis, MO.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
