Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Global Logistics Manager to oversee and optimize our international logistics operations. This role will be responsible for managing freight movement across global sites including Puerto Rico, China, and Thailand, while mentoring a team of logistics coordinators. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic mindset, strong operational knowledge, and the ability to manage broker relationships and compliance processes.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of 3 logistics coordinators across multiple global locations.
- Manage relationships and agreements with freight brokers and logistics partners.
- Oversee inbound and outbound freight operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Monitor and report on key logistics KPIs including freight spend, on-time delivery, and shipment accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, including AES filing with the U.S. government.
- Collaborate with internal teams to streamline inter-facility transfers and improve logistics workflows.
- Respond to logistics-related issues, including monitoring email communications and resolving urgent freight matters.
- Conduct quarterly site visits to global facilities to ensure alignment and operational efficiency.
- Support system improvements and leverage tools like FedEx, Siteline, SAP, or JDE for logistics tracking and reporting.
Essential Skills
- Minimum 3 years of global logistics experience.
- Strong understanding of international trade compliance and freight operations.
- Experience managing or mentoring logistics teams.
- Proficiency in AES filing and working with freight brokers.
- Ability to monitor and manage logistics KPIs.
- Proficiency in SAP, JDE, ERP systems, FedEx.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Technologically savvy with the ability to adapt to various logistics platforms.
- Forward-thinking mindset with the ability to assess upstream and downstream impacts.
Work Environment
On-site/Hybrid Flexibility with quarterly travel to global sites. Fast-paced, high-volume logistics environment handling 15–20 shipments per facility daily, approximately 400 items per month. Collaborative team culture with cross-functional coordination.
