Telecommunications Technician

We are seeking a skilled Telecommunications Technician to support the installation, maintenance, and ongoing operational needs of voice, data, and transport network systems. This role involves working hands‑on with digital microwave systems, fiber optics, LAN infrastructure, wireless technologies, and associated power systems across various remote telecommunications sites.

Technicians will collaborate daily with a team of experienced professionals to implement new equipment, troubleshoot issues, and ensure existing infrastructure operates safely, reliably, and in alignment with established service levels and technical standards.

Job Requirements:

• Must be able to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively manage time and tasks.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Interfaces professionally with technical teams, business partners, and external vendors.
• Demonstrates consistent safe work habits and contributes to a safe work environment.

• Willingness to support 24/7 on-call operations as needed.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including driving long distances, climbing ladders, walking on uneven terrain, working above shoulder height, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and repair telecommunications systems including digital microwave, fiber optic infrastructure, voice and data networks, and wireless systems.
• Perform both reactive and preventive maintenance activities following established processes and standards.
• Provide project support for network upgrades, new equipment installations, and site enhancements.
• Work at remote sites alongside other technicians to support daily operations and ensure reliable system performance.

This is a Contract position based out of Gulfport, MS.

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $25.00/hr.
