Job Title: Production Scheduler


Job Description

The production scheduler performs essential production and communication functions throughout the company. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask are paramount.


Responsibilities

  • Produce production schedule based on customer orders, production capacity, inventory levels, and sales demand.
  • Schedule production accurately.
  • Check sales orders for accuracy.
  • Place purchase orders for incoming raw materials.
  • Aid in scheduling freight for inbound and outbound items on an as-needed basis.
  • Manage inventory levels with ingredients and packaging.
  • Physically count inventory.
  • Monitor products through various stages of the production process to update records of completion and availability dates.
  • Communicate between production, customer, and sales people, relaying delays, issues, and irregularities.
  • Aid in personnel planning in the plant.
  • Communicate ingredient order status.
  • Verify each inbound shipment is up to specifications.
  • Produce the production report.
  • Balance inventory/packaging numbers.
  • Ensure accuracy in paperwork.
  • Implement new systems.
  • Release orders and schedule shipping dates to ensure timely distribution to customers.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of production scheduling experience in the manufacturing industry.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills and time management skills.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and maintain professional relationships.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; High School diploma or equivalent required.

Work Environment

This person will work within an office setting onsite at a small manufacturing plant.
