Job Title: Civil Project Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Civil Design Engineer to join an award-winning firm actively involved in building projects for the local community. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to impactful projects while working in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform site design from conceptual through construction document phases utilizing AutoCAD software.
- Conduct design calculations including water, sewer, storm drainage hydraulic modeling, SCMs, and erosion control, and prepare report figures and exhibits.
- Review drawings, specifications, calculations, and other engineering documents.
- Generate correspondence, attend meetings, and serve as a point of contact for clients, review agencies, contractors, the public, and design team members.
- Prepare, submit, and track required site and utility permits.
Essential Skills
- Ability to understand and follow complex written and oral instructions.
- Knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices related to utilities operations, development, design, and construction.
- Familiarity with current codes and regulatory standards governing building construction.
- Proficiency in reading, updating, and maintaining various records and files.
- Ability to operate and maintain various software applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Skill in operating specialized software and office equipment, including large format plotters, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Hydraflow, Bentley WaterCAD, and Microsoft Office/Excel.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and establish strong working relationships.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited College/University.
- NC Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
- 5 to 15 years of experience specifically related to site design.
- Motivation to interact successfully with clients, regulators, the public, and design team members.
- Desire to collaborate with in-house Landscape Architects in multi-disciplinary teams.
- Ability to pass a check and legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Valid Driver's License.
