Job Title: Pharmacy Technician


Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Review contents of referral to ensure complete and accurate information has been received.
  • Create a patient profile from a scanned or faxed image by entering correct patient and provider information.
  • Conduct an initial check of prescriptions to ensure clinical accuracy for processing.
  • Communicate with providers regarding referral status, prescription clarification, missing information, or patient concerns.
  • Update concise progress notes to ensure other roles within the workflow can quickly assess the status of the referral.
  • Enter new provider information, such as the National Provider Identifier, accurately into the system.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) required and must be in good standing.
  • 2+ years of pharmacy operation experience preferred.
  • Current registration with NC Board of Pharmacy (NCBOP) required.
  • Proficient in data entry and call center operations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Competence in basic computer skills.
  • Multi-task oriented and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to effectively work with people.
  • High School Diploma required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Healthcare experience preferred.
  • Flexible and adaptable to a changing environment.

Work Environment

This position is based in a call center environment with no direct patient contact, all communication is conducted over the phone. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8am to 8pm EST, with weekends off. Major holidays are observed. Initially, all work will be onsite from 9am to 6pm during the reverification period, transitioning to a potential hybrid schedule if the position becomes permanent.
