Job Title: Preventative Maintenance Technician

Job Description

As a Preventative Maintenance Technician, you will lead teams in line setup and product changeovers, identify critical controls and issues, and provide production run sheets to packaging machine operators to facilitate daily production runs. You will update production systems and case total boards, maintain raw material inventory, and communicate any discrepancies. Additionally, you will set up and operate multiple machines in the packaging area, assist in keeping the production line operational, and perform basic troubleshooting and minor adjustments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead teams in line setup and changeover of product, identifying critical controls and issues.
  • Provide production run sheets to packaging machine operators to complete daily production runs.
  • Update production systems and case total boards to communicate production goals to the next shift.
  • Maintain raw material inventory and communicate discrepancies.
  • Set up and operate multiple machines in the packaging area.
  • Assist in keeping the production line consistently operating and clear of jams.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and make minor adjustments.
  • Aid in the operation of packaging machinery by troubleshooting issues with codes, dates, and prices.
  • Assist with or submit maintenance work orders.
  • Perform or assist with Preventative Maintenance (PM) as needed.
  • Monitor and check weights and product appearance as required.
  • Maintain and lead GMP, PPE, safety, and quality policy compliance, setting an example and validating employee compliance.
  • Assist with communications to Quality Assurance on holds and changeovers.
  • Assist supervisor in completing daily line paperwork on KPIs.
  • Read and understand machine data.
  • May assist with training of new employees and operators.
  • Run checks on metal detectors to ensure they are working properly.
  • Keep work area aisles and exits clear and free from obstruction and remove trash from the work area floor.
  • Support and participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Follow instructions for safe lifting/carrying and identify/report equipment issues and job-related injuries.
  • May perform sanitation tasks, including equipment washes, seasoner cleanings, and wipeouts.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Work Environment

The work schedule operates on a 223 schedule with shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM, covering both days and nights. The role requires maintaining compliance with GMP, PPE, safety, and quality policies, and involves working in a dynamic production environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Charlotte, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.35 - $25.35/hr.
