Are you ready to dig deeper—literally and professionally? We're looking for a Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) Technician who’s eager to make a real impact on infrastructure projects while growing their technical expertise in a supportive, long-standing company.

🛠️ What You'll Do

As a SUE Technician, you’ll be at the forefront of underground utility detection and verification, ensuring safe and efficient excavation for a wide range of projects. Your work will directly support engineers, surveyors, and construction teams by identifying and mapping critical underground infrastructure.

• Apply ASCE 38-02 standards and Quality Levels to real-world projects
• Use ground penetrating radar, electromagnetic tools, and other geophysical methods to locate utilities
• Designate and mark water, sewer, gas, electric, fiber optic, PVC, and other lines
• Create sketches and documentation for future reference
• Operate vacuum excavation trucks and perform hand digging to verify utility characteristics
• Maintain vehicles, equipment, and work sites to keep operations running smoothly
• Research site utilities before field entry to ensure accuracy and safety

Essential Skills

• Experience with surveying and CAD applications
• Familiarity with subsurface utility engineering and utility locating
• Ability to operate GPR and vacuum excavation equipment
• Strong understanding of blueprints and underground utility systems

Preferred Qualifications

• High School diploma or vocational/technical training
• Experience with electromagnetic and geophysical technologies
• Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new software
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to lift and carry equipment as needed
• Willingness to travel up to 50% for field assignments
