Supplier Quality Engineer
Job Description
As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of products and processes provided by our suppliers. You will address and resolve supplier quality issues, define quality protocols, and conduct audits and surveys to maintain high standards.
Responsibilities
- Address supplier quality issues through root cause analysis and supplier corrective actions.
- Define, instruct, and maintain supplier quality procedures and protocols.
- Conduct periodic surveys of supplier facilities and manufacturing processes to assess technical and quality assurance capabilities.
- Perform on-site audits of suppliers as required.
- Qualify new suppliers based on their ability to meet quality assurance requirements.
- Develop and analyze a supplier rating program.
- Plan, organize, and conduct vendor reviews.
- Provide support to manufacturing by developing a team of receiving inspectors.
- Interpret and communicate specific requirements to the supplier base effectively.
- Review purchase orders for production materials.
- Optimize the process flow of nonconforming material from receiving inspection back through procurement to the supplier.
- Prepare detailed studies and cost justifications for applications.
- Collaborate with vendors, peers, and customers professionally to analyze product failure data and laboratory tests to determine material and process causes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in materials management, engineering, or business
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a supplier quality role
- 5+ years of experience in an aircraft or aerospace environment preferred
- Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge preferred
- CQE or CQA certification is a plus
- Experience with First Article Inspections
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills
- Proactive attitude and problem-solving skills
Work Environment
This role involves working closely with suppliers and manufacturing teams, requiring regular site visits and audits. The environment is dynamic, with an emphasis on maintaining high-quality standards and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will need to effectively communicate and collaborate with various stakeholders.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Creedmoor, NC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $42.00 - $52.00/hr.
