Entry‑Level Low Voltage / Fiber Technician

Job Overview

We are seeking Entry‑Level Low Voltage Technicians with basic fiber pulling and structured cabling experience to support a large‑scale technology upgrade project throughout North Carolina. Technicians will assist with installing audiovisual and communications equipment in both new construction and existing facilities, working alongside experienced lead and mid‑level technicians.

This is a strong opportunity for junior techs looking to gain hands‑on experience in AV systems, cabling, and telecom infrastructure while working on a high‑profile, statewide rollout.

Responsibilities (Entry‑Level / Jr. Techs)

• Pulling and routing low‑voltage cabling
• Hanging and supporting cable using J‑hooks
• Assisting with cable management and cleanup
• Learning punch‑down and termination techniques from senior techs
• Following safety and jobsite procedures at all times
• Maintaining a professional attitude on active job sites

Responsibilities (Mid‑Level Techs – if applicable)

• Punch‑downs using 66 & 110 blocks
• Terminating jacks in communication closets
• Assisting with cable routing and labeling
• Mentoring junior technicians onsite
• Using hand tools to complete terminations cleanly and correctly

Required Skills & Experience

• Entry‑level experience in low voltage, structured cabling, or fiber pulling
• Exposure to audio‑visual systems or CAT5/6 is a plus
• Understanding of basic termination and testing concepts
• OSHA 10
• Ability to climb an 8–10 ft ladder
• Must own a reliable vehicle
• Must have a credit card for reimbursable expenses

This is a Contract position based out of Durham, NC.

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Durham,NC.
