We’re looking for amotivated and design-driven Civil Engineerto join our growing team in downtown Durham. You’ll be part of a close-knit team of engineers, designers, and planners, contributing to every phase of the project lifecycle—from concept through construction. This role offers hands-on experience, leadership opportunities, and strong mentorship under the guidance of a Project Manager and Studio Leader.
What You’ll Do:
- Design and analyze civil engineering components including grading, drainage, stormwater, utilities, and site layout.
- Prepare detailed construction drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D and other modeling tools.
- Write technical reports, memos, and documentation to support design decisions.
- Conduct QA/QC reviews of drawings and specifications.
- Manage small-scale projects or key components of larger efforts.
- Mentor and review work from junior staff and CAD technicians.
- Perform site visits, field reports, and construction observation.
- Respond to contractor RFIs and support project coordination.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Registered PE or EIT on track for licensure.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in site development and civil design.
- Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal codes and permitting processes.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and other civil design software.
- Excellent communication, writing, and organizational skills.
- A collaborative mindset and a passion for thoughtful, sustainable design.
