Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented SOP Development Specialist to support the creation, documentation, and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across manufacturing, quality, safety, and support functions. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals looking to build a career in manufacturing operations, quality systems, or continuous improvement.
The selected candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure procedures are accurate, clear, standardized, and compliant with internal and external quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Document new and existing manufacturing processes into clear, standardized SOPs
- Observe production floor activities to accurately capture process steps and best practices
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to validate procedure accuracy and usability
- Format SOPs using approved templates and document control standards
- Update SOPs following process changes, audits, or corrective and preventive actions
- Support compliance with quality systems (including ISO 9001), safety requirements, and internal policies
- Organize and maintain SOP databases, version control, and revision histories
- Assist with training documentation and onboarding materials tied to SOPs
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost
- Support audit readiness by ensuring SOPs are current, accurate, and accessible
Required Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred (Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, Engineering, or related field)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standardized processes
- Basic understanding of manufacturing environments or operations preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and document formatting tools
- Strong written communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work on the production floor and interact with cross-functional teams
- Willingness to learn quality systems, safety standards, and manufacturing processes

- Exposure to manufacturing or quality control environments
Work Environment
- Combination of office and manufacturing floor settings
- Exposure to production equipment, processes, and safety protocols
- Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) while on the production floor
This is a Contract position based out of Monroe, NC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
