Job Title: Field Engineer


Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Field Engineer to manage and supervise laboratory operations related to construction materials testing. This role involves overseeing testing, reporting, and quality control while ensuring compliance with industry standards.


Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise all laboratory operations including scheduling, testing, reporting, and quality control.
  • Perform and oversee laboratory testing on construction materials such as soil, aggregate, asphalt, and concrete.
  • Ensure all laboratory testing complies with applicable standards.
  • Train and mentor lab technicians and junior staff.
  • Review and approve test results, data reports, and documentation.
  • Coordinate with field teams, clients, and project stakeholders to support ongoing construction and geotechnical projects.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure efficient project delivery.
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment and uphold health and safety standards.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide technical support as needed.

Essential Skills

  • Inspection and materials testing.
  • Quality control and quality inspection.
  • Project management skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in construction materials testing, focusing on asphalt, soil, and concrete.
  • Previous lab management or project management experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards and testing protocols.
  • Certifications such as ACI, NICET, or state DOT certifications are highly preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and laboratory management software.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Work Environment

The role involves working both in the field and office. A company vehicle is provided for fieldwork.
