Job Title: Extrusion Machine Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our team. The role involves changing extrusion tooling such as tips, dies, heater bands, screws, and more. You will be responsible for reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings, utilizing precision tools to measure products, and adjusting extruder parameters to ensure product specifications are met. The role also involves operating a forklift to manage product and material logistics.

Responsibilities

  • Change extrusion tooling such as tips, dies, heater bands, and screws.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and drawings accurately.
  • Utilize calipers, micrometers, tapes, and microscopes for product measurement.
  • Adjust extruder parameters to maintain specified tolerances.
  • Operate a forklift to load and unload products and materials.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in extrusion or plastics extrusion.
  • Proficiency in using calipers, micrometers, and interpreting blueprints.
  • Ability to multitask and troubleshoot issues in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel applications.
  • High School Diploma or GED, or 4 years of solid manufacturing/production experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Extrusion experience is strongly preferred but if someone has strong CNC machining experience they can be a fit.
  • and a strong willingness to learn will be considered.
  • Sustained above-average attendance record.
  • No history of repeated or severe disciplinary actions for policy violations.
  • Completion of all required training programs.
  • Ability to work overtime and comply with safety policies.
  • Ability to use gages for inspection and lift 50 lbs regularly.
  • Ability to stand, bend, push, pull, kneel, climb, and work in weather extremes.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of SMITHFIELD, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.50/hr.
