Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Quality Engineer responsible for implementing quality assurance (QA) for engineering activities and quality control (QC) for production and manufacturing support. The role requires a strong focus on supporting engineering and quality teams to ensure product development and manufacturing processes meet the highest standards.
Responsibilities
- Support engineering and quality teams in all quality-related activities.
- Plan and execute reviews of testing activities for development and conformance.
- Develop detailed test plans for all phases of product testing.
- Create test strategies, test cases, and review test results.
- Participate in assessments such as Bill of Design, CTS, DFMEA, PFMEA, DVP&R, CTR, etc.
- Provide analytics from tests conducted and historical data.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance technical documents and templates.
- Create test development and execution schedules.
- Investigate test failures through data analysis and assess risk of failure in the field.
- Support warranty claims by providing internal information.
- Identify and assess potential risks in design and manufacturing that could impact customer quality.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and production teams.
- Conduct capability studies and gage R&R.
- Perform root cause analysis and prepare quality documents.
- Engage in QA during product development/R&D and provide QC support during manufacturing and production.
- Apply knowledge of PPAP, APQP, and other quality validation processes.
- Review and implement customer requirements and technical specifications.
- Coordinate engineering and pre-production builds.
Essential Skills
- 5+ years of experience in QA/QC, validation, testing, and product development.
- A BS degree or equivalent in engineering, or equivalent experience without a degree.
- Proficiency in quality control, audits, and corrective action plans.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Knowledge of electronics, GD&T, pneumatics, optical and climate testing.
- Familiarity with automotive regulations and test reports.
- Ability to read drawings and schematics.
- Experience in manufacturing and cycle testing.
- Skills in quality engineering, quality assurance, and root cause analysis.
Work Environment
The work environment includes the use of computers, office equipment, 3D printers, test equipment, gauges, optical equipment, electronics, and tools. The normal work hours are from 7:15 am to 4:15 pm, Monday through Friday.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Snow Hill, NC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $70000.00/yr.
