About the role
We’re looking for an IT Deployment Technician to stage, configure, and deliver
Windows 11 workstations at scale. You’ll prepare devices, install and configure
Microsoft 365 apps (with emphasis on Outlook), perform basic troubleshooting,
and keep clean records in Ivanti. Success in this role means getting users
productive on day one while maintaining accurate ticket and asset data.
What you’ll do
• Receive, unbox, and inventory hardware; asset‑tag and update records in
Ivanti (ticket/asset system).
• Set up Windows 11 laptops/desktops: apply baseline settings, drivers,
firmware/BIOS updates, Windows updates, and required security controls
(BitLocker/MFA steps as applicable).
• Install and configure Microsoft 365 apps: Outlook profile setup, Teams,
OneDrive sync, Office apps, and any line‑of‑business software.
• Perform basic troubleshooting during and after build: login/profile issues,
network connectivity (Wi‑Fi/Ethernet/VPN), printers/peripherals, display/dock
problems, and common Windows 11 errors.
• Prepare user kits (docks, monitors, keyboards, headsets) and provide clear
first‑login guides or quick walk‑throughs at handoff.
• Coordinate deployments with users and the support team; provide walk‑up/go‑live
support to keep cutovers on schedule.
• Maintain ticket hygiene in Ivanti: create/own tickets, update status,
document steps and resolutions, and close within SLAs.
• Process returns, swaps, and RMAs; sanitize and redeploy devices per policy.
• Contribute to checklists, deployment runbooks, and knowledge base articles;
suggest improvements to standard build steps.
What you bring (required)
• 1–3+ years in end‑user computing, desktop support, or deployment operations.
• Strong Windows 11 skills: user profiles, drivers, updates, device settings,
and common troubleshooting.
• Microsoft 365 experience: installing and configuring Office apps, Outlook
profiles/calendars, Teams, and OneDrive.
• Familiarity with Ivanti for ticketing/asset updates (or similar ITSM tools)
and disciplined documentation habits.
• Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi‑Fi, VPN) to validate
connectivity and resolve simple issues.
• Clear, patient communication and strong customer service; comfortable
supporting users during pickup/cutover.
Nice to have (preferred)
• Experience with imaging/provisioning (Intune Autopilot, SCCM/MECM, MDT/WDS)
and driver/BIOS utilities (Dell/HP/Lenovo).
• Basic PowerShell for post‑deployment tasks (app installs, device rename, log
collection).
• macOS familiarity for mixed environments; A/V and conference‑room setup
experience.
• Hardware break/fix (keyboard, memory, SSD, battery swaps) and vendor RMA
workflows.
Key success metrics
• On‑time device delivery and first‑time‑right build rate.
• SLA attainment for ticket updates and closure in Ivanti.
• Asset record accuracy and reduction in post‑deployment rework.
• Positive user feedback/CSAT during deployment windows.
Work environment and logistics
• Onsite/hybrid as required for staging and handoffs.
• Ability to lift/move 25–40 lbs and stand for periods during
staging/deployments.
