Job Description
This role focuses on wiring and assembling electrical components for concrete batching equipment, primarily concrete dump trucks. You will use blueprints to install and connect lighting, tailgate systems, and related hydraulic and pneumatic components, ensuring each vehicle meets quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams to assemble electrical components for concrete batching equipment and concrete dump trucks.
- Wire and connect lights, tailgates, and other electrical systems according to specifications and safety standards.
- Perform basic hydraulic and pneumatic work related to tailgate and batching equipment operation.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices such as tape measures to complete accurate and precise assemblies.
- Perform mechanical assembly tasks as needed to support the overall build and functionality of the equipment.
- Inspect completed wiring and assemblies for accuracy, quality, and proper operation, and make adjustments or repairs as required.
- Follow all safety procedures, housekeeping standards, and production guidelines while working on the shop floor.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and support continuous improvement efforts.
- At least 6 months of mechanical assembly experience OR at least 6 months of maintenance technician experience.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and basic wiring diagrams.
- Hands-on experience with electrical work, including wiring of components and systems.
- Proficiency using common hand tools and power tools in a shop or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to accurately use a tape measure and other measuring tools.
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems and components.
- Ability to perform basic hydraulic and pneumatic tasks related to equipment assembly.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work full-time on a first-shift schedule with required overtime on Fridays.
- Background in automotive, car mechanic, or similar mechanical repair work.
- Experience in carpentry or working with materials that require precise measuring and cutting.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment.
- Ability to troubleshoot minor electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic issues during assembly.
- Willingness to learn new processes and cross-train in related assembly tasks.

Work Environment
This is a first-shift, full-time role in a production and assembly shop environment. The standard schedule is Monday through Thursday from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, structured as four 10-hour shifts and one 8-hour shift. There is mandatory 8 hours of overtime included in each Friday shift, with additional optional overtime available on Saturdays from 6:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Work is hands-on and involves standing, moving around the shop, and using hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices while assembling and wiring concrete batching equipment and trucks. Typical shop attire and appropriate safety gear are required in line with standard manufacturing and assembly environments.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Blair, NE.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
