Job Title: Tax Credit Accountant

Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic Tax Credit Accountant to join our growing team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a non-traditional accounting environment, focusing on tax equity investments and renewable energy tax credits. The ideal candidate will have experience in financial reporting and tax compliance experience.

Responsibilities

• Review tax equity investment accounting and syndication accounting for external stakeholders.
• Maintain accounting systems including customers, suppliers, ledger, and account hierarchies.
• Act as the accounting liaison for co-investors participating in tax equity syndication.
• Correspond with the internal accounting team regarding entity structure, cash movements, and book/tax accounting for all revenue streams.
• Maintain ownership of general ledger, tax basis, and capital account tracking schedules for tax equity investments.
• Assist with month-end and quarter-end reporting, annual plan budgeting, and quarterly forecasting.
• Supervise, guide, and develop direct reports.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
• 3+ years of relevant financial reporting and tax compliance experience in a public accounting firm.
• Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables.
• Experience with general ledger accounting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
• Experience in renewable energy or utility company industries.
• Familiarity with Power BI and SQL is advantageous.
