Job Title: Controls Engineer
Job Description
This is a temporary, 100% onsite role lasting 12 months, where the successful candidate will play a crucial part in supporting all aspects of digital transformation, including implementing new processes and standard traceability systems. The role will ensure seamless integration into existing operations to support readiness for Lighthouse designation with the World Economic Forum.
Responsibilities
- Integrate and deliver digital/natively connected equipment from manufacturing plants.
- Manipulate data to ensure communication links between legacy and new systems.
- Ensure Gateway devices are ready for downstream and upstream communication.
- Collaborate with Data-Flow teams to validate work prior to shipment.
- Lead digital manufacturing qualification assessments.
- Verify planned configurations against digital architecture and influence architectural strategy.
- Test validity of QR codes on targeted products and kits, report issues, and track resolution.
- Implement Industry 4.0 Smart Factory solutions.
- Collect and develop improvement opportunities/ideas, create Digital Apps/solutions from Approval through Feasibility, Design, Pilot, and Release.
- Improve industrial performance using Schneider Performance System techniques and tools.
- Participate in specifications and quotations of new line architectures and industrial scenarios.
- Deploy Lean/6 Sigma tools.
- Manage updates of the organizational structure of the shopfloor when modifications are required.
- Increase awareness and digital acumen among site population.
- Network continuously with Digital communities to share and replicate best practices.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Informatics, Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent.
- Strong interaction with hardware and communication networks.
- Lean Manufacturing knowledge.
- Proficiency in CAD and CAD/CAM Circuit Design.
- 3+ years of experience in industrial manufacturing with business informatics and/or computer science.
- Experience with data communication devices (networking, wireless devices, gateways, routers, cloud servers).
- SQL and SQL database knowledge.
- Strong background in wireless and wired communications protocols (Modbus, Ethernet/IP, CAN, Profibus).
- Extensive experience with OPC Unified Architecture platform.
- Understanding of HTTP protocol.
- Strong PLC programming skills (Unity, ProWORX).
- Experience configuring and designing HMI systems.
- Familiarity with vision systems (Cognex, Keyence).
- Knowledge of electronic circuits: digital, analog, power, and high voltage.
- Proven ability to work independently in a multicultural virtual environment.
- Project Management competency, Business knowledge, and Digital Savvy profile.

Work Environment
