Generator Field Service Technician
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Generator Field Service Technician to join our team. This role focuses on repairing, servicing, and maintaining emergency stand‑by generator systems, with an emphasis on Cummins and Blue Star Power Systems. You will travel throughout the region to support customers in healthcare, commercial, industrial, and agricultural environments. Strong communication skills, professionalism, and a willingness to learn are essential.
What You’ll Do
- Perform electrical troubleshooting and problem‑solving on AC/DC systems
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair emergency stand‑by generators, automatic transfer switches, and related equipment
- Use wiring diagrams and schematics to diagnose and repair electrical issues
- Troubleshoot diesel, natural gas, and propane generator systems and provide solutions to customers
- Conduct annual inspections, load banking, lube services, fueling, and cooling system maintenance
- Travel outside the local area to support customers across multiple industries
What We’re Looking For
- Proficiency in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting
- Experience with field service, diesel engines, or power generation
- Ability to complete repairs after proper diagnosis
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Proficiency with computers, email, Word, and PDF
- Experience using hand tools and power tools
- Strong organization and cleanliness in work practices
Education & Experience
- Associate degree or equivalent in a related field preferred
- Previous experience in diesel, power generation, or related industries
- Clean driving record
- Ability to pass drug and alcohol testing
- Willingness to travel regularly

Work Environment
This is a field‑based role with travel to a variety of customer sites, offering exposure to diverse industries and equipment types, especially emergency stand‑by power systems.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $62000.00 - $93000.00/yr.
