Job Title: Assembly Operator

Job Description

As an Assembly Operator, you will be responsible for completing job cards, routers, and job documentation as required. You will operate equipment such as lathes, welders, presses, grinders, cable cutters, swagers, and packaging equipment necessary for manufacturing cable assemblies. Additionally, you will maintain material traceability by completing records of materials usage for each job, perform visual and tactile inspection of assembled parts, and gather samples for testing and inspection.

Responsibilities

  • Complete job cards, routers, and job documentation.
  • Maintain material traceability by completing records of materials usage.
  • Monitor and perform visual and tactile inspection of assembled parts.
  • Perform proof-loading of assembled parts.
  • Gather samples for start-up and in-process testing and inspection.
  • Package and label processed material according to job card instructions.
  • Report part or process quality issues to the supervisor or quality personnel.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in assembly line and visual inspection.
  • Experience with hand tools and cable assembly.
  • Ability to perform visual inspection of completed products.
  • Ability to self-motivate and problem-solve in a fast-paced setting.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Good documentation practice.
  • Understanding of part workmanship.
  • Ability to analyze data and make recommendations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot manufacturing defects.
  • Proficiency in English reading, writing, and speaking.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Prior manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Experience in assembly, production, and packaging.

Work Environment

There are six openings with four positions on the first shift, Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5:30 PM, and two positions on the second shift, Monday to Friday from 5 PM to 1 AM (training on the first shift for two months is required). There is an option for Saturday overtime depending on production needs, from 8 AM to 3 PM.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Allendale, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
