Job Title: Compounder


Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Compounder to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately retrieving, measuring, and mixing various ingredients, maintaining quality standards, and documenting processes in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Responsibilities

  • Retrieve and measure ingredients using scales, mix various ingredients, and melt solids using hot plates.
  • Identify ingredients that require dilution, dilute appropriately, and record raw materials usage.
  • Maintain quality standards by verifying weight and contents of raw materials, conducting in-process batch inspections, and documenting all process events.
  • Process liquids, powders, homogenizing, and spray dry methods of compounding.
  • Follow standard batch instructions to accurately weigh dyes and other substances into the equipment.
  • Check for consistency in various batches and measure the viscosity of mixtures.
  • Take samples of batches and submit them to the laboratory for testing.
  • Adhere to food safety guidelines and accurately document work completed.
  • Wear a uniform and proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Multi-task and perform under pressure while remaining flexible in a fast-paced environment.
  • Sample and test for various attributes from mixes after completion.
  • Follow sanitary guidelines and clean equipment.
  • Responsible for packing and labeling containers according to customer specifications and completing all required documentation.
  • Willingness to work overtime.

Essential Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Attention to detail to recognize unit of measure requirements.
  • Experience with scales, accurate tare, and measurement of grams and pounds.
  • 1+ years of liquid flavor compounding experience.
  • 1+ years of experience in a GMP environment.
  • 1+ years of experience in small scale compounding.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in liquid compounding, flavors, and fragrance.
  • Overtime availability.
  • Batch making expertise.

Work Environment

The role is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to odors, fumes, airborne particles, and noise levels. The team is close-knit and bilingual, working in a small-sized team relative to larger firms. Personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, non-slip steel-toed shoes, hairnets, facial hair nets, ear plugs, lab coats, uniforms, or coveralls are mandatory on the Production Floor.
