The Senior Accountant will focus on all aspects of accounting and inventory, with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes. This role involves cost and item set-up in JDE, inventory control, monitoring, and reconciling inventory variances. You will play an integral role in managing manufacturing variances, excess and obsolete (E&O) inventory, and lower of cost or market (LCM) calculations. The Senior Cost Accountant is responsible for overseeing day-to-day inventory transactions across different sites, including third-party facilities, and collaborating with various departments to ensure inventory accuracy and effective management.
Responsibilities- Perform month-end close activities including preparing and posting journal entries, completing reconciliations, ensuring SOX controls compliance, and conducting financial analysis for the P&L and balance sheet.
- Review inventory status regularly and recommend appropriate reserves in accordance with company policy, including for slow-moving, obsolete, and excess inventory, as well as LCM adjustments and inventory variances.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to research and resolve inventory-related issues, ensuring inventory records remain accurate, timely, and reliable.
- Establish additional controls across supply chain and finance functions, identifying opportunities to improve existing controls and standard operating procedures.
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to monitor process effectiveness.
- Support cross-functional initiatives and participate in training activities with related business areas to strengthen operational knowledge and enhance overall inventory management practices.
- Experience in cost accounting, general ledger, and reconciliation.
- Proficiency in month-end close processes and journal entry preparation.
- Knowledge of material management within the manufacturing industry.
- Experience working with auditors and knowledge of public accounting practices.
- Strong understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance.
- Experience with large ERP systems.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Vision for growth into a managerial role.
This role is within an American publicly traded generics and specialty pharmaceutical company. The position offers an 8% annual bonus and provides a pathway for growth into a managerial role.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $105000.00/yr.
