Job Title: Specialist - Demand Planning

Job Description

We are seeking a Specialist in Demand Planning to join our remote team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the Demand Plan. This role involves implementing performance standards and operating procedures that affect the Demand Planning function, deploying related tools and reports, and maintaining demand forecasts for the business unit. As a champion of the Sales and Operations Planning Process (MBP), you will assess the content of Monthly Sales and Gap Reviews through collaboration meetings with cross-functional partners, ensuring robust business processes and facilitating interactions between Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the Demand Plan and forecast for the business unit.
  • Create and manage Master Data in planning systems, minimizing errors and avoiding duplication.
  • Generate and maintain a Demand Plan at product hierarchy levels, considering recent events.
  • Understand and improve Demand Planning key performance metrics and targets.
  • Utilize Demand Planning system functionalities for exception-based management.
  • Implement improvements to Demand Planning processes and tools for tangible benefits.
  • Contribute to cross-functional planning activities, ensuring preparation and follow-up actions for Monthly Business Planning meetings.
  • Make recommendations on the baseline forecast and defend changes to the Consensus Demand Plan.
  • Capture, prioritize, and analyze forecast assumptions, including marketing and sales events.
  • Analyze actual sales data to identify unforecasted activities and minimize deviations from the Demand Plan.
  • Present outcomes of the Monthly Business Planning process to leadership and obtain stakeholder buy-in.
  • Ensure the latest Demand Plan is readily available to internal business partners through systematic reporting.
  • Partner with supply for product discontinuations and reformulations.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 3-5 years of business experience in functions such as Demand/Supply Planning, Supply Chain Development, Procurement, Physical Logistics, Customer Service, Sales, Marketing, or Finance.
  • Planning experience in Demand or Supply Planning.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven ability to influence others.
  • Experience with Demand Planning and statistical forecasting techniques, preferably in DTC or e-commerce.
  • Experience implementing processes and systems for organizational improvement.
  • Strong analytical aptitude with the ability to analyze data and build quantitative models.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work with personnel at all levels.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to a fast-paced environment with multiple demands.
  • Creative thinking skills with emphasis on developing innovative solutions to complex problems.

Work Environment

This position is fully remote with a full-time schedule from 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday. The work involves collaboration with various departments including Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Operations to ensure a seamless demand planning process.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Bridgewater, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $39.50/hr.
