Food Scientist

This role is primarily focused on the Research and Development (R&D) Food Science department and will serve as a shared resource across multiple groups. You will work on various ingredient types, such as sugars and sweeteners, applicable across multiple brands, and identify new flavor trends. Your role will involve managing multiple projects, ensuring compliance, and driving product development, significantly impacting product quality and market success.

• Conduct research and development in food science focusing on ingredient types such as sugars and sweeteners.
• Identify and analyze new flavor trends applicable across various brands.
• Manage multiple projects, ensuring they comply with industry standards and regulations.
• Drive product development to enhance product quality and ensure market success.
• Utilize formulation experience to create and improve product prototypes.
• Perform bench work and conduct trials in pilot plants.
• Collaborate with different teams to share resources and information effectively.
• Analyze data to make informed decisions and present findings to stakeholders.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in food science, preferably with a background in biscuits or chocolate.
• Experience in formulations and R&D, particularly in making prototypes and conducting pilot plant trials.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in data analysis and presentation skills.
• Excellent communication and people skills.

• Strong technical foundation with a high level of technical curiosity.
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and manage complexity effectively.
• No travel restrictions.

Work hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM, with flexibility required when running trials. The work environment is a combination of office tasks and hands-on activities in pilot plants and factories. You will work both independently and as part of a team, emphasizing quality and safety. Strong communication and coordination with various stakeholders are essential. Flexible work hours allow for remote work on Mondays and Fridays, with onsite work from Tuesday to Thursday. This is a Contract position based out of East Hanover, NJ.

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $40.00/hr.

This is a hybrid position in East Hanover,NJ.
