Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer
Job Description
This role involves evaluating electrical products, components, and applications by designing and conducting research while applying knowledge of electricity and materials. You will be responsible for the design and development of rugged displays, rugged computers, and panel PCs for the defense industry. Ensuring product quality through the design of electrical testing methods and testing finished products and system capabilities is a key aspect of this position.
Responsibilities
- Extract and understand customer requirements.
- Develop and design custom cables and document wiring lists.
- Create test procedures and reports.
- Design printed circuit board layouts and schematic capture.
- Implement electromagnetic control principles in product designs.
- Design or select low voltage power supplies.
- Select commercial off-the-shelf components and LED/LCD displays based on end product requirements.
- Support qualification tests at outside laboratories.
- Assist in product design and development.
- Work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Develop manufacturing processes for building and assembling electrical components.
- Assure product quality by designing electrical testing methods and testing finished products and system capabilities.
- Research new parts/methods to improve product design.
- Maintain product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.
- Communicate effectively with vendors and customers to resolve engineering issues.
- Engage in hands-on testing and troubleshooting.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in electrical design, including schematic capture and printed circuit board layout.
- Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design.
- Experience with power electronics.
- Expertise in electrical engineering principles.
- 15+ years of experience in circuit design and PCB layout.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering. Master's degree is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Detailed-oriented team player with the ability to multitask and collaborate with various departments.

- Experience in debugging and diagnostics.
- Ability to work effectively on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Work Environment
The position requires 100% onsite work in Mahwah, NJ. You will be working a 9/80 schedule, five days a week. The organization is privately held, family-owned and operated, and has a significant footprint within the government/DoD space. The work environment is characterized by a tight-knit group of 45 total employees, fostering a great company culture.
