Job Title: Process Engineer


Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Process Engineer to lead efforts in optimizing blow molding and injection molding processes. This role is pivotal in improving cycle times, reducing scrap, and boosting productivity. You will provide production support by guiding Setup Technicians, Process Technicians, and Junior Engineers in machine setup, production startup, and process monitoring. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new product development and process validation. Your expertise in process troubleshooting will be essential in conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions for process deviations and equipment failures. Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in processes, equipment, SOPs, and work instructions will also be a key aspect of your role.


Responsibilities

  • Lead blow molding and injection molding process optimization efforts.
  • Assist and guide Setup Technicians, Process Technicians, and Junior Engineers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for new product development and process validation.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshoot process deviations and equipment failures.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in processes and equipment.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in blow molding and process engineering.
  • Strong skills in root cause analysis.
  • Experience in the plastics industry.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering-related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in Blow Mold within the plastics industry.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and improve processes on machines.

Work Environment

The work environment includes a team of 142 individuals, with 8 fellow engineers. This role requires spending 95% of the time on the production floor. The position involves 12-hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM, following a rotating schedule of 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, and 3 days off, totaling 18 days off per month. The role requires working every other weekend. The company is a family-owned, fourth-generation business experiencing significant growth as a leader in custom plastic bottle manufacturing for various industries including hospitals, household, and food.
