PSEG operates under a Flexible Work Model where flexible work is offered when job requirements allow. In support of this model, roles have been categorized into one of four work location categories:

Onsite are roles that have specific onsite requirements and are typically onsite daily.

Hybrid fixed are roles that are a blend of onsite work/in-person interactions with some ability to work remotely and require employees to live within a commutable distance and be onsite fixed days each week.

Hybrid flexible are roles that can be performed remotely but require some level of onsite work/in-person interactions on a regular basis, require employees to live within a commutable distance and, since business needs vary by position and may change over time, managers will set expectations and flexibility regarding where and when work is performed.

Fully remote are roles that can be performed remotely, require employees to live in approved states and will have purpose-driven in-person interactions on occasion.

Job Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to prepare the monthly, quarterly, and annual tax provision, ASC 740 (FAS 109 and FIN 48) work papers. This includes preparing analytics, disclosures, roll-forwards, and other related calculations. This position will also maintain and reconcile income tax accounts.

Job Responsibilities

  • Primary responsibilities include the preparation of the monthly, quarterly, and annual tax provision, ASC 740 (FAS 109 and FIN 48) work papers, analytics, SEC disclosures, roll-forwards, and other related calculations.
  • Maintain reconciliations of income tax accounts.
  • Assist in the preparation of all tax related SEC reporting and external audit deliverables.
  • Maintain quarterly tax work paper documentation in compliance with SOX.
  • Lead the tax technology process improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in researching tax, financial, and regulatory tax related issues.
  • Ensure compliance with all tax SOX controls and provide documentation to internal and external auditors.
  • The successful candidate must have strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and sense of collaboration.

Job Specific Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Five years tax experience in corporate or public accounting environment
  • General knowledge of GAAP Accounting Standards as they pertain to Income Taxes (ASC 740)
  • Excellent organization and follow up skills that allow for the ability to handle priorities and meet commitments.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams etc.

Strong professional presence and credibility

Desired:
• Certified Public Accountant
• MS in Taxation
• Regulated utility experience is a plus
• Knowledge of PowerPlan Provision is a plus
• Ability to build & maintain relationships
