Restoration Technician for Construction and Emergency Damage
Pay will be based on relevant work experience. This job will be labor intensive.
Job Description
The Restoration Technician responds to emergency situations involving water, fire, smoke, mold, sewage, biohazard, or storm damage at residential and commercial properties. In this role, you help stabilize and restore damaged structures, clean and deodorize affected areas, and prepare sites for the rebuild team to complete repairs. You work on a wide range of projects, from minor incidents to large-scale property losses, ensuring each property is safe, clean, and ready for reconstruction.
Essential Skills
- Experience or strong interest in construction, restoration, or general labor work.
- Ability to safely use hand tools and power tools during demolition and cleanup tasks.
- Capability to perform physical labor, including lifting, carrying, sweeping, and debris removal.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning, sanitizing, and deodorizing techniques for damaged properties.
- Comfort working in environments affected by water, fire, smoke, mold, sewage, or other contaminants, while following safety guidelines.
- Attention to detail in documenting work performed and following established procedures.
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation for emergency response.
- Strong work ethic and desire to learn and grow within the restoration industry.
- Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) is a significant plus.
- Experience in mitigation, remediation, or environmental cleanup is beneficial.
- Experience in carpentry or construction-related trades is advantageous.
- Familiarity with property restoration and property damage assessment is helpful.
- Comfort working with cleaning chemicals and following manufacturer and safety guidelines.
- Openness to ongoing training and obtaining additional industry certifications.
Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to emergency calls involving water, fire, smoke, mold, sewage, biohazard, or storm damage at residential and commercial properties.
- Perform demolition and removal of damaged building materials and contents as needed to stabilize the property.
- Clean, sanitize, and deodorize affected areas using appropriate chemicals, tools, and techniques.
- Assist with mitigation efforts to prevent further damage, including water extraction, drying, and containment.
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during demolition, cleanup, and restoration tasks.
- Support property restoration activities to return structures to a safe and pre-loss condition.
- Carry out environmental cleanup and sanitation tasks, including sweeping, debris removal, and janitorial-style cleaning.
- Follow established remediation procedures for mold, sewage, and other environmental hazards.
- Document work performed, including damage conditions, materials removed, and cleaning and restoration activities.
- Collaborate with the rebuild team by preparing job sites and ensuring areas are ready for reconstruction work.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, tools, and equipment at all times.
- Follow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment as required for each type of loss.
- Participate in on-call rotation to respond to after-hours or weekend emergency situations as needed.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Albuquerque, NM.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $37440.00 - $56160.00/yr.
