Job Title: Phlebotomist - Full Time Weekend phleb in Las Vegas


Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Phlebotomist to join our team in Las Vegas. The primary role of the phlebotomist is to perform blood draws and specimen collections, troubleshoot issues, and make workflow recommendations. This position requires a professional who can explain procedures clearly and courteously to patients and update patient information accurately.


Responsibilities

  • Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, and decontaminate work areas.
  • Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.
  • Explain the venipuncture and specimen collection process clearly and courteously.
  • Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and butterfly needles.
  • Understand and follow all physician orders and match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
  • Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
  • Verify test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure accuracy.
  • Package specimens for transport according to required temperature and protocols.
  • Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
  • Attend annual department trainings.
  • Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to address inquiries.

Essential Skills

  • Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment, as required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2 or more years of experience in phlebotomy.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with blood draw, specimen collection, and specimen processing.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Ability to work with geriatric and pediatric populations.

Work Environment

The work environment is fast-paced, requiring precision and attention to detail. The phlebotomist will use various technologies and equipment such as centrifuges and computers. The position may require wearing specific attire suitable for a laboratory setting.

Hours:

Thursday 6:30-3:30, Friday 6:00-3:00

Saturday 5:45am-2:00pm 30 min lunch

Sunday 5:45am-1:30pm 30 min lunch

Monday 8:30am-5:30pm 1hr
