Job Description

Assemble various parts for electronic fire suppression systems used by fire departments for training. These systems may include cylinders infused with propane to simulate fires or obstacle courses for training purposes.

Responsibilities

• Follow written and verbal instructions to assemble fire suppression systems.
• Use hand tools and power tools for assembly tasks.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
• Fill out build sheets, product defect sheets, and hourly tracking sheets.
• Contribute to process and product improvement initiatives.
• Maintain a clean workspace during and at the end of the shift.

Essential Skills

• Experience with power tools.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Assembly experience, with a preference for electrical experience.
• Experience in electronics assembly, including soldering, wire harness assembly, and wiring components.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to move/lift 30 lbs and stand for a 10-hour shift.
• Experience in assembling.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Work Environment

The work environment includes a clean production floor where safety procedures are closely followed. Music is allowed, but not through headphones. The dress code requires work pants, steel-toed shoes, and dressing in layers for comfort. The shift runs from Monday to Friday, 7 am to 3:30 pm, totaling 40 hours per week.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Albany, NY.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
