**Field Service Technician - Job Description** READ IN FULL- schedule is at the end of all the sites needed. The more sites you can do the better!

**Project Overview:**

TEKsystems is deploying a project team to manage the clients Point of Commerce (POC) Deployment, which involves replacing approximately 12,000 Verifone MX925 PIN pad devices with new Verifone M450 units across 1,153 stores nationwide. This large-scale deployment will run from March to April 2026, with all installation work completed by April 30, 2026.

**Position Summary:**

We are seeking two Field Service Technicians per market to work as a team, completing PIN pad installations at Kohl's retail locations. Each team will be responsible for all scheduled sites in their assigned market. There are approximately 7-10 pin pads per site and it is expected to take 30-35mins per device.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Remove existing Verifone MX925 devices and install Verifone M450 PIN pads according to documentation.

- Ensure all cables are securely connected and functional.

- Maintain cable hygiene: conceal routing, remove excess slack, eliminate trip hazards, and use approved cable management materials.

- Conduct testing and verification with the Manager on Duty (MOD).

- Perform successful test transactions at each register.

- Complete Kohl's PIN Pad Verification Form for each register.

- Capture required documentation and upload to Kohl's designated repository.

**Schedule & Commitment:**

- Each site requires two visits (dates provided in your market schedule).

- 1-2 sites per day, approximately 4-8 hours per day.

- Hours: 8:45 AM start time, Monday-Friday, normal business hours.

- 4-hour minimum guarantee per scheduled workday.

- You must be available for all dates on your market schedule.

- Some markets may have gaps between site visits - we prefer to maintain the same team throughout.

**Required Qualifications:**

- 1-2 years of PC technician experience (Level 2 Intermediate).

- Installation, support, and troubleshooting skills.

- Ability to follow step-by-step instructions and manuals.

- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

- Willingness to drive between site locations.

- Smartphone capable of taking and sending photographs.

**Preferred Skills:**

- Cable management experience.

- PIN pad technician experience.

**Tools Required (Must Provide):**

- Standard PC tool kit.

- Smartphone.

- Security torque screwdriver.

- Double-sided tape.

- Zip ties.

- Velcro straps.

- Wire cutters.

**Dress Code:**

- Business casual - jeans or khakis with no holes, clean/professional polo-style shirt (no t-shirts).

**Compensation & Travel:**

- Pay Rate: $25/hour.

- No overtime expected (if required, must be pre-approved at 1.5x rate).

- 4-hour minimum guarantee per scheduled workday.

- Mileage: Reimbursed at government rate for travel over 50 miles each direction (starting at 100 miles total). First hour of drive time and first 50 miles deducted at start/end of day. Time and mileage between sites paid without deduction.

- Hotel: Must be pre-requested and approved. If approved, will be booked through GLO. Incidental fees are consultant's responsibility.

**Compliance Requirements:**

- BG check: TEK Standard 7-year (no education, no employment, no MVR).

- TGS & DST Litmos trainings.

- I-9 verification.

- All compliance must be completed at least 10 business days prior to the start date.

Sites Needed: Each site location will have 2 technicians onsite.

This is a Contract position based out of Albany, NY.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Albany,NY.
