Job Title: Controls Technician
Job Description
- Support the Plant Engineer in ensuring the smooth operation of a 24/7 automated manufacturing facility.
- Work with various systems, including processing, refrigeration, packaging, boilers, air systems, and wastewater.
Responsibilities
- Read and understand electrical diagrams.
- Use AutoCAD to design electrical systems.
- Install, fix, and maintain control systems such as PLCs and sensors.
- Collaborate with the Controls Engineer and Maintenance team to ensure systems function properly.
- Troubleshoot electrical and control issues.
- Assist with maintaining safety and maintenance records.
- Operate and maintain the Building Automation System.
- Train other technicians and share knowledge.
- Support equipment upgrades and new installations.
- Complete tasks on time and within budget.
Essential Skills
- Experience with PLCs, including Rockwell, Siemens, and ABB.
- Knowledge of VFDs and control systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, ladder logic, and HMI programming.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Associates degree in controls or electrical engineering technologies or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3+ years working in manufacturing.
- Minimum of 2+ years as a controls technician or equivalent experience.
- Competency with CAD systems, supervisory control systems, ladder logic, and other relevant programs.
Work Environment
- The dress code includes steel toe boots and safety glasses.
- Work schedule follows a 2-2-3 pattern with day shifts from 6am to 6:30pm and night shifts from 6pm to 6:30am.
- The facility is a food and beverage manufacturing setting.
