Construction Materials Technician

We are seeking a Construction Materials Technician to provide critical materials testing and observation services for projects involving roadways, bridges, airports, large commercial developments, and remediation. You will be involved in both field and laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel. Your role will involve performing tests, documenting findings, and ensuring data accuracy before submitting it to the Project Manager.

Responsibilities

• Perform field and laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials.
• Document findings and results clearly and accurately.
• Conduct basic data analysis to verify accuracy before communication.
• Communicate findings and data to the Project Manager and other personnel as directed.
• Maintain and calibrate equipment as necessary.
• Train lower-level technicians depending on experience level.

• 1-2 years of relevant field experience.
• Experience with concrete, steel, and compaction testing.
• ACI Level 1 certification.
• Valid driver's license.
• Experience with laptop computer use and Microsoft Word and Excel.

• Ability to read and understand geotechnical reports is a plus.
• Strong personality and communication skills.
• Familiarity with nuclear gauge and Troxler equipment.
• Ability to drive vehicles such as a Ford F-150 or equivalent.

This is a field-based role with a team of 8 technicians. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Buffalo, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
