HR Specialist
Job Description
This position supports the company's primary objective to acquire and retain profitable customers by coordinating talent acquisition efforts, overseeing the recruitment process, and providing HR generalist support as needed. Success in this role is measured by timely and successful recruitment coordination, effective collaboration with hiring managers and departments, a smooth onboarding process, accurate payroll and benefits administration, adherence to regulations, and clear communication throughout HR processes.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the full recruitment process, from posting job openings to screening resumes and scheduling interviews.
- Execute sourcing candidates using job boards, marketing, and networking platforms.
- Manage the applicant tracking system (ATS), ensuring candidate information is updated and tracked.
- Communicate with candidates to schedule interviews, provide job offers, and manage all communications.
- Conduct initial phone screenings for open positions.
- Coordinate pre-employment requirements such as physicals, drug tests, and breath alcohol tests.
- Assist with the onboarding experience for new hires, including office setup, IT access, benefits reviews, and HRIS setup.
- Track the progress of open positions, providing updates to the HR Manager and hiring managers.
- Assist with payroll-related tasks, including tracking employee hours, supporting payroll processing, and 401(k) remittances.
- Maintain and update employee records in HRIS and ensure compliance with HR regulations.
- Provide administrative support for benefits enrollment, claims processing, and employee inquiries related to benefits.
- Assist with organizing company events and maintaining employee engagement programs.
- Support employee relations by addressing HR inquiries, resolving minor issues, and assisting with employee communications.
- Assist with conducting compliance audits and supporting state-required training sessions.
- Participate in special HR projects as needed and perform other job-related tasks as requested.
- Support the administration department with other job-related tasks.
Essential Skills
- Human resources expertise.
- Talent acquisition experience.
- Proficiency in ATS and HRIS systems.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in human resources, talent acquisition, or a related administrative role.
- Recruitment experience strongly preferred.
Work Environment
This position offers a hybrid role with flexible hours from 9 to 4/5. The company is family-owned, deeply values its culture, and prioritizes employee satisfaction. While there is currently only one person in HR, there are plans to expand the HR team, offering potential for leadership roles as the company grows. The company has expanded from 30 to 80 employees in recent years, focusing on customer solutions tailored to individual needs.
