Job Title: Lab Technician
Job Description
As a Lab Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of products by navigating the plant environment to obtain liquid samples from silos and performing various tests using lab equipment. You will work in accordance with FDA and plant standards, maintaining a clean lab environment and documenting your activities thoroughly.
Responsibilities
- Navigate the plant environment to properly obtain liquid samples from silos using FDA and plant standards.
- Test samples using lab equipment for PH, acidity, freezing point, viscosity, and solid/fat percentages.
- Document all activities with dates and signatures, ensuring the lab is kept clean to prevent contamination.
- Maintain an adequate supply of lab materials, including chemicals and pipets.
- Adhere to FDA and plant standards at all times and calibrate equipment daily.
- Handle phone calls from the dairy and various parts of the plant, multitasking to ensure product specifications are met.
Essential Skills
- BS in technical sciences
- 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to document and review quality standards
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in quality assurance and quality control
- Knowledge of lab instrumentation, chemistry, biology, GMP, microbiology, QC, titration, inspection, and analytical chemistry
- Proficient in data entry
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elma, NY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.25 - $23.25/hr.
