Quality Engineer

Location: Farmingdale, NY (100% Onsite)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Join a dynamic team focused on quality assurance in a fast-paced aerospace and defense manufacturing environment.
You’ll serve as a liaison and team lead across departments, ensuring adherence to quality and reliability procedures.
This role is the primary contact for Program Teams, managing Product Assurance Elements, tracking budgets, and supporting proposals.
Top Must-Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial or Mechanical preferred)
- 3–12 years of relevant experience
- Strong communication skills across technical and management levels
- Experience with CAPA, Lean, Six Sigma, and IPC standards
- Familiarity with AS9100 and ISO 9001
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and serve as a liaison between departments
Responsibilities
- Act as a single point of contact for all Product Assurance Elements
- Track program budgets and provide work scope for assigned team members
- Support proposals and inform team members of proposal requirements
- Develop and implement quality procedures
- Establish and collect data for metrics reporting; analyze results for adverse trends
- Prepare and present status reports for management and customers
- Generate and track responses to internal and supplier Corrective Action Requests (CARs)
- Maintain an effective monitoring program using PC-based tools
- Perform detailed contract reviews to determine quality assurance requirements
- Communicate effectively across technical and management levels
- Occasional domestic travel (<10%) may be required
Essential Skills
- CAPA, audit, root cause analysis, and quality control
- Quality engineering, testing, and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of electronic components, oscilloscopes, and multimeters
- Experience with quality assurance and quality management systems
- Ability to develop and track corrective action plans
Work Environment
- Hands-on work on the manufacturing floor, primarily at a bench
- Troubleshooting, repairing, retesting, and moving products through production
- Collaborative environment with leads and supervisors
- Willingness to train and grow within the team
- 9/80 work schedule (every other Friday offolidays.
