Job Description
A construction and fabrication organization is seeking a Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC) Inspector to support active projects through on-site inspection and quality compliance. This role is responsible for verifying that work is performed in accordance with project requirements, applicable codes, and established quality standards. The QA/QC Inspector will conduct detailed inspections, including welding inspections, maintain accurate documentation, and work closely with project management, engineering, and field teams to ensure quality objectives are met throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Perform on-site quality inspections to verify compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards.
- Conduct and document welding inspections and other quality checks as required.
- Maintain inspection reports, logs, and quality documentation.
- Coordinate pressure testing and non-destructive examination (NDE) activities with third-party providers.
- Verify welder qualifications, certifications, and continuity records.
- Identify and report non-conformances or quality deviations and support corrective actions.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field personnel to support quality objectives.
- Ensure quality processes are followed consistently across assigned projects.
- AWS QC1 CWI certification or current/previous ASNT TC-1A Level II certification.
- Experience in Quality Control, Quality Assurance, or Quality Management within construction or fabrication environments.
- Strong understanding of welding inspection practices and applicable industry codes.
- Knowledge of NDT processes and experience coordinating with NDT service providers.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify defects or deviations.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and codes.
- Additional certifications related to quality control or inspection.
This position is on-site, requiring the QA/QC Inspector to be present at the construction and fabrication locations. The role involves close collaboration with project management, engineering, and field teams to ensure adherence to quality standards and objectives.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Malta, NY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
