Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Mechanic with expertise commercial electrical installation work. The role involves working with conduit sizes ranging from 1/2 to 4inch, including tasks like creating 90-degree bends, offsets, and saddles. You will be responsible for building conduit rack systems and pulling wires through these systems, as well as wiring lighting control systems and having a strong knowledge of the NEC code. The job also includes installing and wiring branch circuits, distributions, and handling MC & BX rough-ins, three-way switches, outlets, and fire alarms.
Responsibilities
- Bend EMT using hand benders, table benders, and bending conduit.
- Create 1/2 to 4inch conduit bends, 90-degree offsets, and saddles.
- Build conduit rack systems and pull wire through conduit systems.
- Wire lighting control systems and have a strong knowledge of NEC code.
- Perform MC & BX rough-ins and install three-way switches, outlets, and fire alarms.
- Install, wire, and finish branch circuits and distributions.
Essential Skills
- Proficient in electrical work, conduit, and wiring.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Familiar with conduit bending and lighting control systems.
- Knowledge of Lutron Systems and fire alarm systems.
- Experienced in exposed conduit installation, EMT, and galvanized pipe.
- Knowledge of NEC Code and electrical layout.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Must have a physical and active SST 10-hour card.
- At least 8 years of experience as a full mechanic who can read prints independently.
- Possess own personal protective equipment (PPE) and hand tools including cordless drills, metros, electrical testers, and laser levels.

Work Environment
The position requires travel across all five boroughs, accessible by public transportation. The work schedule includes start times between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM, with an eight-hour workday, a half-hour unpaid lunch, and a 15-minute coffee break.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of New York, NY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
