Overview
We’re seeking an experienced Industrial Hygienist to support environmental investigations, inspections, and remediation oversight across New York City’s five boroughs. This role is highly field‑focused and centers on asbestos and lead-based paint inspections, air monitoring, and regulatory compliance on active abatement projects.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical knowledge, NYC-required certifications, and hands‑on experience working in fast‑paced urban environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct asbestos and lead-based paint inspections in accordance with NYC, NYS, and federal regulations
- Provide field oversight and monitoring of abatement projects, ensuring compliance with approved work plans and safety standards
- Perform air monitoring, clearance sampling, and exposure assessments during remediation activities
- Conduct XRF testing and accurately document and report findings
- Support environmental investigations, assessments, and compliance activities
- Prepare clear, thorough technical reports, including inspection reports, monitoring results, and regulatory documentation
- Serve as a technical resource to project teams, contractors, and clients
- Travel between job sites throughout all five boroughs of NYC
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
- NYC-certified Asbestos Inspector
- NYC-certified Asbestos Project Monitor
- NYC-certified Lead-Based Paint Inspector
- 5+ years of experience in industrial hygiene, environmental inspection, or remediation oversight
- Hands-on experience with air monitoring and abatement oversight
- Strong knowledge of environmental and occupational health regulations
- OSHA 40‑Hour HAZWOPER certification
Preferred Certifications & Skills
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety
- Air Sampling Technician certification
- Experience with environmental remediation and compliance reporting
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills
- High attention to detail and commitment to safety

This is a Permanent position based out of New York, NY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $80000.00/yr.
