Job Description

Responsibilities

• Accession lab samples accurately and efficiently.
• Process samples and ensure proper documentation.
• Utilize medical terminology and customer service skills to assist patients.
• Enter data meticulously into medical record systems such as NextGen and Epic.
• Collaborate with other laboratory personnel to ensure smooth operations.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in medical assisting and customer service.
• Familiarity with medical records and terminology.
• Experience in lab accessioning and sample processing.
• Competency in data entry and patient access systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of clinical experience in a medical office, clinic, or hospital setting, or completion of an accredited medical assistant program.
• Demonstrated history of stable employment and favorable references.

Work Environment

Work in a medical office environment that may require frequent exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, and other substances typical of a healthcare setting. Expect to work in close proximity to other personnel and use a computer keyboard throughout the day. The role may involve the use of an autoclave for instrument sterilization and requires working under stressful conditions and/or irregular hours. The dress code is scrubs, and the position does not include holiday or vacation time but offers sick time.
