Job Description

The Environmental Scientist will manage a variety of tasks including conducting environmental investigations and assessments, ensuring regulatory compliance, and overseeing asbestos and lead paint inspections and remediation. The role also involves field monitoring of abatement projects in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, performing XRF testing, and recording data. Providing technical support and writing reports are also integral aspects of this position.

Responsibilities

• Conduct environmental investigations and assessments.
• Ensure regulatory compliance for environmental projects.
• Perform asbestos and lead paint inspections and remediation oversight.
• Monitor abatement projects in compliance with regulations.
• Provide technical support for environmental projects.
• Write detailed reports on environmental findings.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Environmental Science.
• NYSDOL Asbestos Inspector Certification.
• Asbestos Project Monitor Certification.
• Experience with air monitoring.
• OSHA 40 Hazwoper Certification.
• Experience in environmental remediation.
• Proficiency in report writing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Air Sampling Technician certification.
• Technical support experience.

Work Environment

The position involves working on projects throughout the five boroughs, requiring travel from site to site. You will work as part of a team of 5-7 members, performing a variety of environmental tasks including air monitoring, regulatory compliance, and remediation oversight.
