Job Description
We are seeking an Assistant Resident Engineer to join a dynamic team overseeing a significant wastewater project in the Bronx. This role involves assisting in the management of construction activities, ensuring compliance with all regulations and standards, and maintaining the highest levels of quality control.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Resident Engineer in overseeing daily construction activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
- Monitor and enforce quality control measures, conducting regular inspections and tests to verify the integrity and performance of construction materials and processes.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to address construction-related issues, facilitate communication, and ensure project milestones are met.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including progress reports, inspection logs, and change orders.
- Identify and resolve technical and operational challenges, providing innovative solutions to keep the project on track.
- Ensure all construction activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
Essential Skills
- EIT certification and progressing towards obtaining a Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience working on large Wastewater Treatment Plant or Industrial size construction projects.
- In-depth experience with Civil/MEP disciplines.
- Understanding of structural foundations in wastewater treatment or industrial projects.
- Experience with NYCDEP projects.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in plant environments.
- PE certification is preferred.
Work Environment
The role is based on a NYCDEP WWTP project, with working hours from 7 AM to 4 PM, five days a week. You will be part of a collaborative team of inspectors, field engineers, construction managers, and resident engineers, working from a field office on site.
