Job Captain / Project Architect – Corporate Interiors

A mid-sized architecture firm located in Midtown Manhattan is seeking 1–2 Job Captains / Project Architects to join its corporate interiors team.

The firm specializes in office interiors, core facilities, lobbies, and capital improvement projects for building owners and tenants. Though small in size (15–20 people), the firm operates with a corporate structure and culture similar to larger firms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to the documentation process for corporate interior projects.
  • Assemble full sets of construction documents for filing and bidding.
  • Coordinate with engineers (MEP, structural, acoustical), expeditors, contractors, and consultants.
  • Manage DOB filings and shop drawing submittals.
  • Interact with contractors on-site and review submittals.
  • Ensure high-quality production and coordination throughout all project phases.

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of experience in corporate interiors architecture.
  • Professional degree in architecture or interior design.
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • High-level understanding of interior construction and detailing.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
  • Hands-on approach to drawings and coordination—ideal candidates are doers, not just overseers.

Work Environment

  • In-office schedule: Monday–Thursday.
  • Work-from-home Fridays, project responsibilities permitting (usually allowed).
  • Summer Fridays until September 1st.
  • Standard work hours.
  • Collaborative, fast-paced environment with a focus on quality and accountability.
Compensation:$50
