HIRING: Environmental Inspectors!!

We are seeking a detail-oriented Environmental Inspector with experience in lead-based paint and asbestos inspections to support a variety of environmental projects. This role involves a mix of fieldwork and documentation, supporting compliance with regulatory standards across multiple sites.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently in the field while collaborating with project teams to ensure accurate inspections, reporting, and adherence to safety protocols.


Responsibilities

  • Perform lead-based paint and asbestos inspections in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Conduct site visits, surveys, and environmental assessments across multiple project locations
  • Collect samples and document field data accurately and thoroughly
  • Prepare inspection reports, including findings, recommendations, and regulatory compliance documentation
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety standards and HAZWOPER guidelines
  • Coordinate with project managers, clients, and regulatory agencies as needed
  • Maintain proper documentation and track project timelines and deadlines
  • Support additional environmental investigation and inspection activities as required

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in environmental inspections, specifically lead and asbestos
  • Active certifications as a Lead Inspector and Asbestos Inspector (or ability to obtain quickly)
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and inspection protocols
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple field assignments

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification (preferred)
  • Experience with environmental sampling and reporting
  • Familiarity with NYC or similar regulatory agency requirements is a plus

Work Environment

This is a field-based role involving travel to various project sites. Work will include both indoor and outdoor environments, with exposure to active construction or remediation sites. The role also includes office-based responsibilities such as reporting and documentation. You will work alongside a collaborative team with opportunities for professional growth and certification support.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New York, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $38.00/hr.
