Job Title: Inspector
Job Description
Inspect the relocation, installation, and protection of water, sewer, gas, electric, and telecommunications infrastructure. Ensure compliance with plans, specifications, contracts, and codes. Monitor construction progress and adherence to schedules, while identifying deficiencies and recommending corrective actions. Act as a liaison between contractors, utility companies, and project management, coordinating with utility owners/agencies to minimize disruptions and resolve conflicts. Update the project team on utility work progress and issues and maintain daily inspection logs, photos, and reports. Review contractor submittals, RFIs, and change order requests.
Responsibilities
- Inspect relocation, installation, and protection of various utilities.
- Ensure compliance with plans, specifications, contracts, and codes.
- Monitor construction progress and adherence to schedules.
- Identify deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
- Act as a liaison between contractors, utility companies, and project management.
- Coordinate with utility owners/agencies to minimize disruptions and resolve conflicts.
- Update the project team on utility work progress and issues.
- Maintain daily inspection logs, photos, and reports.

Essential Skills
- Experience in inspection, excavation, and civil infrastructure.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in rail, tunnel, roadway, or heavy civil infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of water, sewer, gas, and electric systems.
- Experience with excavation, trenching, and underground systems installation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- NICET certification or ICC certification.
- Experience working with PSEG or CONED.
Work Environment
Work on a multi-billion dollar infrastructure project, 5 days on site. Collaborate with a team of inspectors, Resident Engineers, Construction Managers, Field Engineers, and more.
