Job Title: Engineering TechnicianJob Description

The Engineering Technician position works closely with the production and process engineering groups to support and improve manufacturing operations, including troubleshooting equipment and resolving process issues. The candidate will also contribute to R&D activities, toll testing, and processing of customer materials. Specific activities include the operation of crushing, screening, and milling equipment. Good mechanical, communication, and written skills are necessary, as is a strong technical aptitude.

Responsibilities
  • Operate various crushing, screening, milling, and calcining equipment.
  • Load and unload, set up, and program various box, shuttle, and pusher furnaces.
  • Conduct testing including sieve analysis, laser particle size measurement, and density testing.
  • Handle materials using lift trucks, and manage packaging and shipping processes.
  • Maintain accurate and concise record keeping.
  • Interface with engineers, maintenance, production, and customer service teams.
  • Assist in R&D activities, including new process scale-up and product development, producing samples, and submitting them for analytical testing.

  • Effective time management skills to manage priorities and production requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Diagnose and perform minor repairs on pilot plant equipment using basic tools.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in a technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience as a lead production operator or manufacturing technician.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Safe loading or unloading and material handling using a forklift or hand truck; fork truck certification preferred.
Work Environment

The position is based in a manufacturing setting, providing space to conduct smaller scale customer orders. The role also involves R&D work with current business operations.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Niagara Falls, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $26.00/hr.
